Hulu Selangor - end of the road for BN?

Don’t come up with all the jazz that Hulu Selangor by election is not an indicator as to the future of either BN or PR. From my point of view, it is.

A win for PR will mean that Gagasan 1Malaysia launched by Najib has been rejected by Malaysians. A win for PR will also mean that the recently launched MEP, albeit outside Parliament, has been rejected by Malaysians. A win for PR will also mean that PERKASA, strongly supported by Mahathir, is not supported by other Malays.

A win for PR will mean the end of BN administration come GE 13.

A win for BN will mean that Malaysians believe Anwar did actually sodomize Saiful. A win for BN will mean that Selangorians are not happy with the manner in which Selangor is being administered by PR led by Khalid Ibrahim.

A win for BN will mean the end of the road for PR come GE 13.

Now let us see who will be buried come GE 13.

Looks like Kamalanathan and Zaid Ibrahim are carrying the future of their respective coalition on their shoulders and to me, Zaid has broader and stronger shoulders as opposed to the shoulders of Kamalanathan.

Kamalanathan is a political novice compared to Zaid. The selection of Kamalanathan caused chaos in the ruling coalition with both MIC and UMNO going for each others neck. UMNO Hulu Selangor demanding that someone from UMNO be selected while MIC demanded that no other than Palinavel should contest. The middle road approach taken by TPM did not heal the wounds when we saw more than 1,200 MIC members leaving MIC to knock on PKR’s doors.

The character assassination approach taken by BN in their campaign backfired on them. Zaid openly declared that he used to drink but repented during his recent Haj pilgrimage. It takes a man to admit his weakness. Failure on the part of some BN lawmakers to take up the challenge thrown in by Zaid to deny that they too are drunks and womanizers, boosted further Zaid’s popularity and made certain BN lawmakers look, not only like idiots, but that they actually are drunks and womanizers.

Looking at the mood in Hulu Selangor, with the sodomy charge against Anwar at the back of our mind, I feel that it is doomsday for BN.

The recent racist statements culminating from Nasir Safar that Indians are beggers and Chinese women prostitutes, is still heard loud and clear by the Chinese and Indian in Hulu Selangor. The cow head episode in Shah Alam is not helping UMNO/BN either. These racist statements and cow head episode have clearly drowned Anwar’s sodomy issue. I for one will say that while the racist statements and cow head episode is something which BN cannot deny, the Anwar’s sodomy issue, which is tainted with irregularities, still need to be proved.

I see that the Orang Asal are now daring enough to demand for their rights and Mazlan Aliman’s speeches are causing much damage in FELDA schemes. I therefore see no light at the end of the tunnel for BN. PERKASA is doing more damage than good in Hulu Selangor.

At the end of the day – is it the end of the road for BN come GE 13? I guess it is …
